I am Silvia.
I was born and raised in Catania, in the foothills of Mount Etna: the market smells, my grandmother's raviole with ricotta, my dad's cooking. None of it registered as extraordinary at the time; that's what growing up in paradise does to you.
In my twenties, I was pulled towards the wider world. I studied languages, lived in Milan, then moved to London in my thirties and threw myself into wine: WSET levels 2 and 3 in Wines, thousands of tastings in London and Europe, travels in wine regions across the world, Michelin dinners, work with producers and importers.
Throughout those years I kept going back to Sicily and started noticing what I missed, the quality of life, the people, the food, the wine, while still living and working in London.
Then a visit to a friend on Etna cracked something open: this was the Sicily tourists never find. I realised the best experiences weren't the famous ones, that travellers did miss the small boutique producers, the kind serious importers chase and tourists never hear of.
Now I give travellers the Sicily Sicilian keep for themselves.
Sicily Curated came from realising that the people who want the real Sicily don't know yet what they are missing, and I am the one who can show them and guiding them through the stories and history of food and wine in Sicily.
